Asian MMA promotions are leaning into co-promotion this year, and today's WLF MMA 72 event exemplifies that trend.
Octagon MMA, a Kazakh MMA league, is sending a squad of fighters off their roster to challenge a team of Chinese fighters from WLF at the Henan TV Studio in Zhengzhou, China, today. Last month, Chinese fighters from WLF traveled to Almaty, Kazakhstan to compete at Octagon 57.
The main event of that show was even won by China's Zhang Qinghe, who knocked out Sundet Aitkul in an upset.
Today's co-promoted show sees Chinese WMMA pioneer Miao Jie return from an MMA hiatus to fight undefeated Antonina Kotlyarevskaya. In addition, Enbo Fight's Sulangrangbo and Eqiyuebu get screen time against Kazakh opponents.
A full card of prelims will also take place before the main card, but is often not aired. Results for those prelims will be added as MMA Ecosystem can confirm their results.
