Maheshate Hayishaer draws Gabriel Benitez for UFC Vegas 91 collision

Maheshate Hayishaer

Maheshate Hayishaer has his next opponent locked in, as he’ll fight Mexican lightweight Gabriel Benitez at UFC Vegas 91 on April 27th.

CC Legaspi with ESPN Deportes first reported the fight. Maheshate has posted a few weeks ago on Douyin that he could be facing Anshul Jubli at this event, but a source informed MMA Ecosystem that the fight was never verbally agreed to on Jubli's side.

Maheshate (9-3), the first Chinese fighter to win on Dana White’s Contender Series, looks to return to form after back-to-back losses. The 24 year-old Chinese Kazakh hasn’t fought since last May, where he fought Team Alpha Male’s Viacheslev Borshchev.

Benitez (23-11) returns after a submission loss to Jim Miller last month at UFC Vegas 84. He entered the UFC through the original season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America in 2014, and has since gone 7-7 in the UFC.

UFC Vegas 87 takes place on April 27th at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
