Two of the best female MMA fighters in Asia are finally meeting in Tokyo.
DEEP Jewels atomweight champion Park Si Yoon returns to defend her atomweight championship against one of the top prospects in all of Asia- 12-0 Seika Izawa. The bout takes place at DEEP Jewels 44 on March 24th at the New Pier Hall in Tokyo, Japan, the promotion announced today.
Izawa has practically beaten every viable opponent in Asia. Fighting at super atomweight (108 lbs), strawweight, and flyweight in the past, this will mark her first attempt to make atomweight (105 lbs) in her professional MMA career. The scalps she's collected in RIZIN and DEEP Jewels includes Ayaka Hamasaki (twice), Park Si Woo (twice), and Laura Fontoura.
Park (6-3), on the other hand, has been one of the breakout fighters of Korean MMA over the last year. She's gone on a 5-0 run since last March, including acquisitions of both the Black Combat and DEEP Jewels atomweight belts. She last appeared at Saturday's Black Combat 10 event, where she beat Moeri Suda by unanimous decision.
